CGH has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Airport Operations Specialist to join the CGH Team.

 Purpose:

The selected individual will be responsible to provide expertise with airports and Terminal Instrument Procedures development. Airspace creation, evaluation, development, and coordination. Flight procedure, ground validations &QA. Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems; GIS/CADD systems. Airport Layout Plans (eALP); airport development; and geobase creation & maintenance.

 Responsibilities:        

  • Manages, plans, organizes, creates, evaluates, and updates a wide range of established and proposed training materials for use in the classroom (in-house) and e-Learning (distance learning) for the FAA Airports Safety and Standards, Airports Engineering Division (AAS-100).
  • Develop and implement Aerospace/airport/IFP design using U.S. TERPS or Pans-Ops criteria.
  • Design & support IFP to International Airspace Management & Training (IAMT) obstacle evaluations on/near airports (FAR Part 77 / ICAO Annex 14 / AC 5300-18).
  • Work closely with ATC including control tower and radar facility operations; flight procedure design; ICAO Pans-Ops (GNSS) International Instrument Flight Procedure design; and applying CADD/GIS software to airport & airspace environments.
  • Develop training courses on new FAA airport data gathering processes and changes to FAA regulatory guidance.
  • Validate survey data content, provide troubleshooting for critical survey data errors, validate project requirements, and coordinated validation findings with the associated Airport Sponsors, Proponents, contractors/consultants, and FAA regional and ADO managers.
  • In-depth knowledge working with FAA airport management personnel, engineers, surveyors, contractors, airport sponsors/proponents, planners, regional managers, State Aviation Authorities, software development specialists, technical writers, FAA AeroNav Services, and other associated airport-centric professionals.

 

Qualifications

 Number of Years Experience Required:        

  • 10+ years of demonstrated and hands-on experience on Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Airport/Airspace Design.

 Minimum Education and Certifications Required:          

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation-related OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is considered.

 Technical Skills Required:        

  • TERPS/ICAO Pans-Ops Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) Design Including STARS, SIDS, RNAV (LNAV/VNAV), RNP, RNP AR, SBAS/GBAS, GLS, and conventional IFPs
  • FAA Airports-GIS Program Consulting/Training (AC 150./5300-16, 5300-17, 5300-18)

 Computer Skills:        

  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Google Earth.
  • GIS systems.
  • Global Mapper, PDToolKit, Microsoft Office.

 Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:        

  • U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. work visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3 or more years.
  • Experience with the Electronic Airport Layout Plan (eALP)
  • Ability to work multiple projects concurrently within deadlines while ensuring that complex information is conveyed in a clear, accurate, and concise manner under normal and in crisis situations.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with customers and program office members in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Experience working with FAA preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills.
