CGH has an exciting opportunity for a Human Factors Engineer to join the CGH Team.

 

Purpose:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in all or one of the following areas:

  • Human Centered Automation (including: studies, designs and implementation of artificial intelligence, human-computer interface, advanced automation work aids, ergodynamics, and expert systems);
  • Information Management and Computer Human Interfaces (including the development and establishment of standardized or accepted symbology and recognition response);
  • Human Performance; and Selection and Training.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions for enhanced end user experience/satisfaction as they work with OPM systems/products.
  • Guide the software/systems delivery team (includes business and IT teams) implement the human centered designs.
  • Work with the end user community to identify and understand the needs and educate them on proposed designs for buy in and acceptance.
  • Facilitate quick decision making on design when changes are required.
  • Educate OPM on latest trends in the end user experience domain and help OPM in keeping up with relevant trends and innovations that benefit its mission and customers.
  • Develop a strategy for adoption on new design for existing/legacy systems.
  • Define and guide OPM for monitoring, measuring and continuously improving end user experience for all systems.
  • Develop processes for dealing with error mitigation, situation awareness, anthropometric evaluations, and organizational effectiveness evaluations:
  • Identify pre-hire selection tools, advanced training concepts and virtual learning methodologies.
  • Provide technical, analytical, evaluation and development assistance to support the RE&D Human Factors Program Research Program Directives (RPD) and management effort.

Qualifications

 

Number of Years Experience Required:

  • 3+ years' relevant experience developing innovative human-centered design solutions for digital systems including but not limited to web based systems and mobile applications.
  • 5+ years' applied research/ statistical research/laboratory research in the behavior sciences or directly in Human Factors.

 

Minimum Education and Certifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for three or more years
  • Must possess good writing and communication skills.
